The following are links to amazon where I find some of my supplies.
Arches Watercolor Paper
Arches watercolor cold press 140# paper is my all-time favorite paper. It maintains its integrity while I paint many layers.
Watercolor Palette
I have about 7 palettes. Yup 7. I know that seems like overkill but I really wanted to find a rhythm in my painting practice that was streamlined. One of the palettes I like is this tin one.
I probably didn’t need all 48 half pans because I don’t have all of them filled. still. I definitely have enough paint to fill it all the way I just wanted to stream line my paint palette colors as well.
Anyway, the point is I like this palette. the tin is nice for color mixing and its easy to fold up and set aside or pack up and bring along with me.
I have other favs but this ones up there.
watercolor Paint
I love watercolors so it is no surprise that I have a growing color palette of yummy - yes, oh so yummy- colors.
My Favorite brands ARE: DANIEL SMITH & WINSOR & NEWTON
Daniel Smith: THESE PAINS GRANULATE IN THE MOST DREAMY WAYS AND LAYER BEAUTIFULLY. MY LIST OF FAVORITES IS GROWING.
Colors; MOONGLOW, PAYNES GRAY, BURNT UMBER, PTHALO GREEN, PTHALO BLUE, VANDYKE BROWN, YELLOW OCHRE,
WINSOR & NEWTON
COLORS: INDIGO, cerulean, PRUSSIAN BLUE, ALIZARIN CRIMSON, MAUVE, BURNT SIENNA, RAW SIENNA, COBALT VIOLET, ULTRAMARINE VIOLET, COBALT TURQOUISE, VIRIDIAN, PERMANENT SAP GREEN, QUINACRIDONE
MASKING FLUID IS A GREAT MEDIUM TO USE TO PRESERVE HIGHLIGHTS OR AS A WAY TO PROTECT AREAS FROM LARGE WASHES.
FOR BEST SUCCESS USE A PAINTBRUSH THAT YOU HAVE ROLLED IN A PAINTBRUSH CLEANING SOAP TO COAT THE BRISTLES. THEN PAINT YOUR MASKING FLUID ONTO YOUR PAINTING.
*TIP DO NOT USE A HAIRDRYER TO SPEED UP THE DRYING PROCESS WHEN USING MASKING FLUID. IT WILL MELT THE MEDIUM INTO YOUR PAPER. YIKES!
